Sandblast & Paint Technician
Location: Casey, IL
Rate of Pay: $20-$25 (based upon experience and/or certifications such as a CDL)
Travel or Overnights Required: This position REQUIRES that you MUST be able to travel every week. Currently, the consistent travel occurs from April through October but could change at any time. The time spent out of town during remote work varies; sometimes it is for a week but could be up to 14 straight days or more. The company pays for the hotels. The employee will get reimbursed for daily meal per diems at the next payroll cycle.
Overtime Pay: Overtime applied after 40 hours of regular time
Average hours per week: 40-55 hours

While the position is seeking someone with a background in abrasive blasting and painting, a candidate that demonstrates initiative, willingness to learn, can boldly take on new processes, and is committed to strictly adhere to safety regulations, will also be considered for this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Use of abrasive blasting equipment with varied media types and/or power tools to prep surfaces of metal and non-metal composition to achieve specific coating application profiles.
- Fill or remove pits, dents, and dimples.
- File, grind, sand, and smooth filled or repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools
- Prime and paint surfaces using paint spray equipment, motorized sanders, and hand tools.
- Maintain, and/or assist with, accurate documentation for projects.
- Perform maintenance on shop tools and equipment.
- Complete Pre-Use Equipment checks.
- Perform loading and offloading activities for supplies, materials, and finished projects.
- Safely operate a forklift. In-house training will be provided.
- Maintain good housekeeping practice in the shop and for field work.
- Wear, maintain, and inspect respirators.
- Proper handling of regulated waste for storage and transport.
- Participate in inventory of supplies, project materials, and shop materials.
- Other day-to-day duties as directed by supervisor and/or manager.
- Follow all company safety requirements regarding the use of personal protective equipment and apparel.
Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must successfully pass a Pre-employment Drug Test. This drug test includes testing for the use of marijuana.
- Must have clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Report). This means you currently have a valid driver’s license and a past driving history that will allow the operation of a company vehicle per our requirements.
- Must be able to travel 100% of the time not including scheduled vacations and PTO days if available.
- Possession of a Class A CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) or willingness to obtain it. Bolin will provide the necessary training.
- Ability to work in extremely cold and hot environments.
- Ability to work at heights up to 50 feet (e.g., scaffolding, manlift, top of a tank.)
- Ability to pass a PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) to demonstrate the ability to wear a respirator (1/2 mask or full mask).
- Ability to pass a fit test to wear a respirator properly. Candidate must be willing to be clean shaven for projects/work that require the use of respirators.
- Must be able to perform all job functions that require lifting and/or carrying single items weighing at least 100lbs.
- Must be able to perform job functions such as pulling, pushing, bending, climbing, standing, lifting, twisting, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and laying.
