Right-Of-Way

The Right-of-Way department travels throughout the tristate area to maintain right-of-ways for our customers.

 

Average hours per week: 40-50

Travel required: Yes, Monday-Friday and occasional weekends

CDL Required: No, but Class A preferred

 

Job functions include:

  • Use of weed trimming machines
  • Use of chainsaws
  • Operating brush chippers
  • Operating skid steers
  • Driving a utility task vehicle
  • Locating underground pipeline with electronic devices

Safety Department

The Safety department is responsible for administering, maintaining, reporting, and training all required certifications and laws within our industry and safety policies and procedures of BEI.

 

Average hours per week: 40

Travel required: Yes

CDL Required: No

 

Types of requirements for our Safety department include:

  • OSHA construction authorization to train the 10 and 30 hour
  • HAZWOPER train the trainer certification
  • Knowledge of the behavior based safety program
  • EPA compliance
  • OSHA regulations
  • Record keeping in DOT/FMCSA fleet management

Tank Inspection

The Tank Inspection department travels throughout the United States to install, inspect, and maintain tanks and tank related equipment.

 

Average hours per week: 55-60

Travel required: Yes, 5-10 days on the road at a time with 2-3 days at home on average

CDL Required: No, but Class A preferred

Tanker and Hazmat Endorsements: Not required, but preferred

 

Job functions include:

  • Painting
  • Cleaning with abrasive material and water under high pressure
  • Hand excavation through the use of hand and power tools
  • Scaffolding erection
  • Handling liquid and solid material
  • Pipe fitting

Pig Tracking

The Pig Tracking department actively or passively tracks pigs using state of the art listening devices and transmitters to communicate a real-time calculated location of the pig(s).

 

Average hours per week: 55

Travel required: Yes, requires extremely flexible schedule defined as possible days, nights, weekends

CDL Required: No, but Class A preferred

 

Job functions include:

  • Driving a utility task vehicle
  • Long shifts of sitting in a truck (10-24 hours)
  • Dig staking
  • Use of a monitoring device
  • Working with computers for data entry and mapping
  • Setting up AGMs (above ground markers)
  • Locating underground pipeline with an electronic device

Pipeline Maintenance

The Pipeline Maintenance department offers a variety of functions to help our customers maintain their pipelines.

 

Average hours per week: 50

Travel required: Yes, 5-10 days on the road at a time with 2-3 days at home on average

CDL Required: No, but Class A preferred

 

Job functions include:

  • Painting
  • Cleaning with abrasive material and water under high pressure
  • Operating a variety of large and small mechanical machinery
  • Excavating and compacting dirt
  • Handling liquid and solid material
  • Changing gaskets and pipe fitting work
  • Pipeline removal and installation ranging from 4-30" diameter

One Call Activity Monitoring

The One Call Activity Monitoring department observes, protects, and reports 3rd party activity onsite at pipeline locations. This position requires the ability to work independently, walk at various incline levels and to read road maps.

 

Average hours per week: 40-50

Travel required: Yes, within designated pipeline areas, usually does not require overnights

CDL Required: No

 

Job functions include:

  • Use of weed trimming machines
  • Objectively describing and reporting job site activity in clear and concise details
  • Use of a logging application on company provided computers
  • Driving a utility task vehicle
  • Locating underground pipeline with electronic devices

Trucking

The Trucking department provides waste management and other transportation services for customers of Bolin Enterprises, Inc and internal departments.

 

Average hours per week: 50-55

Travel required: Yes, frequent overnights and weekends included

CDL Required: Class A

Tanker and Hazmat Endorsements: Required

 

Job functions include:

  • Complying with prescribed safety procedures and federal laws regulating waste disposal methods
  • Operating machines or equipment to handle and transport loads of waste materials
  • Loading and/or unloading materials into containers or onto trucks using hoists or forklifts
  • Cleaning contaminated equipment or areas

Welding

In addition to pipeline welding, the Welding department works on various welding projects for customers and departments of Bolin Enterprises, Inc.

 

Average hours per week: 40

Travel required: Yes, must be willing to travel although this department does not travel frequently

CDL Required: No, but Class A preferred

Welding Certificate: Not required, but preferred

R-Stamp Certification: Not required, but preferred

Certified Pipeline Welder: Not required, but preferred

 

Job functions include:

  • Fabricating using grinders and torches
  • Driving and operating cranes and forklifts
  • Reading blueprints

BEI Automotive Repair

BEI Automotive Repair is a full-service NAPA Auto Care Center that also provides agricultural related products and services.

 

Average hours per week: 40

Travel required: Yes, must be willing to travel although this department does not travel frequently

CDL Required: No, but Class A preferred

 

Types of BEI Automotive Repair positions include:

  • Alignment technician
  • Certified automotive technician
  • Diesel hydraulic technician
  • Inventory specialist
  • Parts department runner
  • Service writer
  • Tire technician

Carpentry

The Carpentry department works on a wide variety of carpentry-related projects for Bolin Enterprises, Inc.

 

Average hours per week: 40

Travel required: Yes, must be willing to travel although this department does not travel frequently

CDL Required: No, but Class A preferred

 

Job functions include:

  • Performing building maintenance
  • Building and construction
  • Remodeling and renovating

Electrical

The Electrical department provides electrical-related services to customers and departments of Bolin Enterprises, Inc.

 

Average hours per week: 40

Travel required: Yes, must be willing to travel although this department does not travel frequently

CDL Required: No, but Class A preferred

 

Job functions include:

  • Troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment including electric motors
  • New installations
  • Remodeling various structures

Grounds Maintenance

The Grounds Maintenance department is responsible for designing and maintaining all aspects of the grounds owned by Bolin Enterprises, Inc. and provides grounds maintenance services to customers.

 

Average hours per week: 40

Travel required: Yes, must be willing to travel although this department does not travel frequently

CDL Required: No, but Class A preferred

 

Types of Office Positions Include:

  • Mowing and edging lawns using power mowers and edgers
  • Shoveling snow and spreading salt on walkways and parking lots
  • Maintaining upkeep of foliage and established lawns
  • Trimming trees and shrubs using hand and power tools  
  • Mixing and spraying a variety of fertilizers and herbicides 
  • Watering lawns and trees using portable sprinkler systems
  • Installing rock gardens, ponds, drainage systems, and irrigation systems

Sandblast and Paint

The Sandblast and Paint department provides sandblasting and painting services on trucks, trailers, tanks, farm equipment, and various other steel products. Familiarity with mechanical equipment is also required since products often need to be taken apart prior to painting and then put back together once completed.

 

Average hours per week: 45

Travel required: Yes, frequent overnights and weekends included

CDL Required: Class A

 

Job functions include:

  • Sanding and smoothing
  • Prepping
  • Sandblast and painting
